And I’ve committed my life to making that dream available to every American.  As a young man, I went to Mississippi to fight for the right of African-Americans to vote. As Connecticut’s Attorney General, I went after deadbeat dads and fought corporate polluters.  As a U.S. Senator, I’ve worked to build a strong defense, improve our public schools, promote and protect our common values, and grow jobs and expand opportunities.

Make no mistake about it: As President, I will fight for what’s right for the American people and do what it takes to grow the middle class and renew the promise of America.

Because a strong middle class means a strong America.
