Freqently asked questions

Is seedstage.com a venture capital firm?
No. Seedstage.com does not directly invest in companies. It works cooperatively with high net worth individual investors (Angels), venture capital firms, and corporate investors to introduce them to investment opportunities that match their respective profiles. Seedstage.com works exclusively with investors who have experience in and actively are investing in high tech companies.

Most venture capital investors today want to invest more than $1,500,000 in a given financing round and are very limited in how many seed stage investments they can make. Seedstage.com focuses on helping companies raise seed stage capital in the $500,000 to $1,500,000 range and cooperates with the venture capital community as companies approach later stage financing rounds.

Does seedstage.com do investment banking
No. However, seedstage.com is partnered with a broker/dealer partner who facilitates the investment transaction. The broker/dealer receives a small percentage of the transaction as compensation.

Is there a fee for membership?
Membership for the first year is free. Each investor member pays an annual membership fee every year thereafter.

Will I recieve unsolicited contacts from entrepreneurs who are members of seedstage.com?
No. We only release your investor profile to a specific Member Company when you inform us that you are interested in learning more about their company. The Member Company then has the option of responding to your request for more information or of declining.

What size investments do the companies expect?
Typically the minimum investment will be $50,000 to $100,000 per individual investor; however, the startup may waive this minimum for strategic reasons.

How does seedstage.com deal with SEC Compliance?
The startup company is encouraged to have its own legal counsel and is completely responsible for full compliance with all federal and stage securities laws.
