Concept Stage:
Tell your story the way they want to hear it.
Above all, remember that you are not the audience and therefore what interests you is irrelevant. Your audience is a group of tough, sophisticated investors with a very short attention span and who know exactly what makes them decide to invest or not to invest. So here's a good first step: make it an elevator story. This means you get on an elevator with someone who says "What business are you in?" and you can tell him by the time you reach the seventh floor. This does not mean talking fast. As an example, here's the elevator story for seedstage.com: We help high tech companies go from nothing to the first venture capital round, and to find all the resources they need to do it.
